Saturday Queer Social Brunch & Curling

Join us for our 2SLGBTQIA+ social brunch and curling at the... friendly home of curling in South Vancouver!

Two great queer choices for your Saturday!

Queer Social Brunch starts at 10:30 AM in our 60's style diner:

Menu varies but most items are around $12 or lower. Fresh food, cooked fresh. Also, check out our lounge available upstairs; Bar opens at 11:00 AM and we have many non-alcoholic options. This is a great opportunity to build our community by meeting new people, and socialize with old friends!

Queer Curling starts at 11:30 AM and goes to around 1:30 PM (arrive by 11:15 AM please).

Drop-in curling: cost $5 a person (until Nov 8th, $10 after that). Costs are discounted (regularly $20) for a limited time thanks to sponsors like the Pacific Rim Curling League. All levels of curler experience are welcome! Pre-registration strongly recommended (see below). limited walk-in spaces will be available, first come first served.

No equipment is needed but we ask that you bring a clean pair of flat-soled athletic shoes to put on at the club and remember it can be cold in the ice shed so warm layered clothing and gloves/hats are also good to bring.

We will also be offering some free coaching using volunteer coaches tentatively planned for Sep 27, Nov 15, 2025 and Jan 17, Mar 21, 2026, for novice curlers.

Learn to Curl (LTC) Clinics: are also being offered this season, in the same time slot, to provide a thorough background and training to all aspects of curling, to prepare you for playing in formal curling leagues. These are offered in 5 week sessions (each session is the same so you only need one of these to take advantage of what it offers). This is strongly recommended for all new drop-in or novice curlers. See the links below!

Pride LTC (Oct.4)

Pride LTC (Nov.29)

Pride LTC (Jan.31)

Novice Leagues: We're also running a couple small commitment, 5 week Novice leagues in the same time slot. These offerings are for those who want a little more structure and commitment over drop-in curling. See the links below!

Pride Novice League (Nov.29)

Pride Novice League (Jan.31)

Don't want to curl? No worries, join us for brunch and/or during and after curling, the lounge is available with a grand viewing area of the ice sheets as well as a well stocked games room (pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, darts and more). You can support the curlers and stay warm and cozy in the lounge.

Come to brunch, or curling or experience both! Come alone or bring friends: Allies welcome! Curling (and our club) are both accessible so if you have an accessibility need, talk to us and we will do our best to accommodate you! Let's get you on the ice.

Let's continue to build and support our 2SLGBTQIA+ community in South Vancouver!

Our dates for this season are: Sep 27, Oct 4, 11, 25, Nov 1, 8,15, 29, Dec 6, 13, 2025 and Jan 3, 10, 17, 31, Feb 14, 21, Mar 7, 14, 21, 28, Apr 4, 2026.

About MCC

Our facility was built in 1959 and still holds the same inviting atmosphere that it did back then. With six sheets of ice, a cafe, bar/lounge, games room and meeting room, we are able to accommodate events of all kinds. We are continuing to work on our club to ensure it is up-to-date, while still respecting its history and character.

The Marpole Curling Club acknowledges that it is situated on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
